Bloodline is the prime example of a perfect drama, Bloodline is a slow-paced and intriguing character-driven show that’s brilliantly-acted and just damn near perfect with it’s narrative. Bloodline is about a family of adult siblings that all live close to each other on their father’s property, and life for them is perfect. However, once their older brother who has never fit into the family shows up, past secrets are revealed, and the whole family struggles with his return. The show is led by Kyle Chandler, Ben Mendelsohn, Linda Cardellini (Freaks and Geeks), and Norbert Leo Butz, and Mendelsohn as the older brother Danny gives one of the most electrifying performances I ever saw. The story doesn’t seem like it’s much, but as the season goes on, more and more family secrets are revealed, and each of the characters are flawed in their own ways. Since this show has a very realistic feel to it, and everyone is flawed in their own ways not just in the show, but real life also, it’s really up to the viewer to who they think the morally right character is, which is incredibly hard to determine. What’s great about the narrative of the show, you have no idea about where’s it’s going in the story. The show is very slow-paced, but it takes time to develop the characters which is really appreciated.
